Stockbox Neighborhood Grocery launched in July 2011 with the goal to provide healthy food options in urban communities with "food deserts" in the Seattle region. These stores aim to provide fresh produce and grocery staples within walking distance of residents' home, work, and school. Each small grocer is designed with a focus on community engagement and food education.

Results / Accomplishments
The first Stockbox opened in a shipping container in Seattle's Del Ridge neighborhood, followed in 2012 by a small store in the South Park neighborhood. The organization opened a larger store in the First Hill neighborhood in 2013, continuing with the same principals and ideas as the first two projects. Within the small spaces, Stockbox carries items ranging from staples including bread and milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, snacks, ready made items and more exotic foods like polenta or couscous.
