Healthy Hampton Roads:  Making the Healthy Choice the Easy Choice

Healthy Hampton Roads (HHR) serves as a catalyst for healthier people, places and policies in Hampton Roads. HHR is a campaign to energize the region’s citizens to create healthier places, policies and people where they live, learn, play, work and worship.  HHR is an initiative of the Consortium for Infant and Child Health (CINCH) at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Objectives:

  • Prompt healthy behaviors for individuals
  • Serve as a local valid and reliable source of accurate, timely, and useful information for improved healthy behaviors for individuals
  • Provide a “hub” for healthy city initiatives in region to share information
  • Plant seeds for citizens taking action to prompt environmental and policy changes within their areas of influence
  • Disseminate the key components of “Livable, Sustainable, and Healthy Communities” as outlined by the CDC at: https://www.cdc.gov/healthycommunitiesprogram/ , https://www.cdc.gov/features/healthycommunities/
