Harvest for the Hungry Garden (HFHG) is an all volunteer community garden whose primary goal is to grow organic produce for differant service agencies in Sonoma County. Last year we donated 11,000 lbs. of fruit and vegetables to the following agencies: The Living Room, FISH, Elisha's Pantry, and the HIV/AIDS Food for Thought Pantry. This year we have added Bethlehem Towers, a low income senior housing complex. Other activities at the garden include free monthly workshops on organic growing practices for the community, weekly flower bouquet donations to Hospice and some nursing homes, a Giving Program that supplies grants to community gardens, school gardens and international farming programs that promote organic farming practices, haven for honey bees with 3 hives, a large medicinal and native habitat garden, and a HUGE plant sale every April featuring over 90 varieties of tomato plants, flowers and veggie starts.

The goal of HFHG is to grow and donate organic fruits and vegetables to the needy in Sonoma county.

In 1987 the Harvest Garden was just two open fields, now it boasts 28 raised beds devoted to growing organic produce. In the past year, HFHG has donated 11,000 lbs. of produce to 4 feeding agencies in Sonoma County.
