Description

Art Not Crime is an effort to build positive relations with the public, and create awareness to the necessity of alternative arts programs for local street artists. The program organizes bi-monthly live art events/fundraisers to showcase talent and sell art creations.They specialize in restoring vandalized properties, and installing mural art, thus enriching the community and discouraging future vandalism.

Art Not Crime also organizes an after-school art program dedicated to serving youth inspired by graffiti art and all of its sub-cultures.

Goal / Mission

Art Not Crime promotes social sustainability by providing a safe place for individuals to create urban inspired pieces of art and display them where their art is appreciated as the language of this new culture and not classified as crime.

Results / Accomplishments

Art Not Crime has erected a series of murals and organized multimedia installations around Portland, Oregon.
